Elevate Book Club: Many Lives, Many Masters

About the meetup: We welcome you all to join a soulful discussion about books and spirituality. Each meetup will have a guided discussion about a different book. If you don't read the book or don't finish, we still encourage you to come. As these are spiritually themed books, it will be easy to join the discussion. We love to have a lot of different perspectives and encourage you to share (even if you didn't like the book!). We will summarize parts of the book, read quotes from it, and offer questions based on ideas, characters, themes, etc. We also welcome you to bring your own questions, favorite quotes, or anything else that spoke to you.

About Many Lives, Many Masters: in the 1980's, Brian Weiss was leading a successful and well-respected psychology practice. He was trained at Columbia and Yale and was considered one of the best in his field. When a patient came to him with chronic anxiety and depression he felt he could easily treat her. However, after a year and a half, they'd made no progress. He had no answers for why as he'd done everything he'd been trained to. He finally put her under hypnosis, and then EVERYTHING changed. She began spontaneously recounting past lives in vivid detail. Dr. Weiss was at first skeptical, thinking she may be having a psychotic break. But when her anxiety and depression cured themselves after the sessions he began to question everything he knew. As their story unfolds it gets even more remarkable. When the book was published it sold millions of copies and changed the way people thought about healing and mental health.

In case you’re interested, here’s a guided meditation you can try by the author. Would love to hear your feedback! https://1drv.ms/u/s!AqyvhVzLx4mqiNd1BcdoHCs6zhz7ig?e=LZMPXl
