This Workshop will be led online through ZOOM - You will be emailed the link prior to the event after signing up.
Ayurveda (the study of life) is the ancient health science of India that emerged alongside yoga. Inherent in the system of Ayurveda is an orientation toward kindness and compassion for oneself through daily practices of self care.
During this challenging time, how can we offer ourselves kindness and compassion? Ayurveda’s wisdom can be especially valuable right now. In this workshop you will learn some of Ayurveda’s daily self care practices and why they are so supportive for staying grounded and balanced.
Sometimes called “the people's medicine” because of its focus on our own personal choices of daily rhythms, diet, and self-care, Ayurveda is a practical and holistic approach to well-being. May this workshop give you empowering tools to support your well-being during this time and beyond.
Some benefits of Ayurvedic practices include:
*Better sleep
*Better digestion
*More energy
*More kindness and compassion (for ourselves and others)
*More emotional balance
*More space and time in daily life
*More relaxation and joy
Instructor: Abbie Silvers
Abbie first learned of Ayurveda during a yoga teacher training in 2012. In 2014, she met Cate Stillman (Yogahealer.com) and began to study Ayurveda under her. Since July of 2019, Abbie has been deepening her knowledge and practices of Ayurveda by working with Samantha Norman in the year-long Ayurveda course Become Your Own Healer. Abbie is so grateful for the benefits of an Ayurvedic lifestyle. By prioritizing self care habits in her daily life, Abbie notices both a great improvement in her physical health and a profoundly positive shift in her mindset. The regular commitment to nurturing herself strengthens the muscles of kindness and compassion. Through this process, Abbie now experiences more joy, resilience, and balance in her life.
