Teacher Mentorship Programs
Yoga Instructors often finish their teacher training not feeling fully confident or ready to teach an actual studio class. Our mentor, Kaycie Hall, receives a lot of questions from teachers regarding class structuring, sequences, theming, postures, modifications, music, timing, etc. Kaycie is happy to donate her time for one studio community class (a free class) with bits of feedback to help with the growth of new teachers in this community, but for more classes and help, it requires a lot more time, energy, observation, attention to detail and in depth feedback. This is why we have created our teacher mentorship program. It will help you to deepen your awareness, hone in on your skills, fine tune your cues & sequencing and to build your confidence towards actual studio classes. Please note that this is not a course to teach you a completely new style of yoga but to progress in the styles you are already trained in. If you feel you could benefit from a mentorship with Kaycie, please check out our options below to see which would better fit your needs. You can also feel free to reach out regarding any further questions: elevatecommunityyoga@gmail.com
Online Mentorship
This is our most convenient and affordable option. It can be done anytime, anywhere!
4 Online Classes - $160 - Counts towards 6 non-contact Yoga Alliance continuing education hours for registered yoga trainers
Here are the details
You must have an active Facebook account with ability to film LIVE videos to our closed Facebook group. (Will be added to the group after signing up).
You must have 1 person (or multiple people) to teach your classes to as your video demos. We recommend that your students are familiar with the style of yoga that you are teaching and able to follow instructions (we don’t recommend kids unless they already have a solid practice). Don’t have someone to practice on? Let us know and we might be able to find someone to help if needed.
You will create a written structure of each class (or classes) you plan to teach in your video and Kaycie will review and provide feedback on each section with any recommendations. You do not have to resubmit a new class structure write up each time unless you are changing your class.
You will submit a music playlist or multiple playlists that you plan on using throughout your class. This will either be one long playlist or multiple playlists that are put together for different sections/energy levels of your class. You must have either Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora or another music service that does not have commercials. Music is a huge part of leading studio classes and we want to ensure your music matches your class tone.
You will submit 4 full length classes via Facebook LIVE ranging from 60-90 minutes in length with you teaching and your student practicing (camera should be on them so we can see how your cues translate into movement). Please do not play your music in your videos to comply with Facebook music copyright policies.
You must complete all your course classes within 3 months of the date you signed up. We want you to keep the information fresh in your mind and your skillset continuously improving. No refunds will be offered for not completing all classes in mentorship package.
Here’s what you get
The closed Facebook group that you will be added to will be open to all that sign up for the online mentorship program. This is a great way for you to not only share your own videos and learn from feedback, but to learn from other teacher’s feedback as well. This will also help you to better connect with other instructors who are growing right along with you. If you are uncomfortable with sharing your videos amongst others, we highly recommend you embrace the discomfort, but exceptions can be made if needing something private - please let us know.
Kaycie will read and reply with feedback on your class structure write-up within 1-2 days after you submit it, so please allow time to receive feedback before filming your class to avoid repeated feedback and to gain the most from this mentorship. Kaycie will give you specific details on how to write out the class structure including class style, length, sections, poses, breath & transitions.
She will listen to and provide feedback on your music playlists to ensure it’s cohesive with your class
Kaycie will watch each video and provide detailed feedback from start to finish in the comment section for your video. This will be given within 1 week of you posting (typically between 2-5 days).
After your video feedback, you will be able to ask any further questions in regards to the feedback to ensure you understand fully moving forward. The objective is to continuously learn and grow from each video rather than receiving repeated bits of feedback.
