Ayurveda, “the study of life”, is the ancient health science of India that developed alongside yoga. From Ayurveda’s perspective, all of life (ourselves and the world around us) is made up of certain elements, qualities, and forces. Ayurveda also recognizes that no two individuals are exactly alike. Thus, it is not a one-size-fits-all approach to health.
In this workshop, you will begin to identify your own particular combination of elements, qualities, and forces, which is known as your constitution. Knowing your constitution is an empowering self-awareness tool and opens the door to self-guided healing. Understanding your unique constitution will help you to:
Become more mindful and compassionate with yourself
Make informed choices about your lifestyle habits, activities, and diet
Develop your intuition about what is best for you personally on your wellness journey
Instructor: Abbie Silvers first learned of Ayurveda while studying to become a yoga teacher. In 2014, Abbie met Cate Stillman (Yogahealer.com) and began to study Ayurveda under her. Since July of 2019, Abbie has been deepening her knowledge and practices of Ayurveda by working with Samantha Norman in the year-long Ayurveda course Become Your Own Healer. Abbie is so grateful for the many gifts of Ayurveda, including the awareness of her own constitution. Ayurvedic wisdom helps Abbie to find more balance, resilience, and a joy in her life.
